About Sushi in Tokyo
Sushi in Tokyo is an independent guide to sushi in Tokyo — written by Rina Tachibana, who grew up a few streets from the old Tsukiji market. I compare the tours so you can book the right one at the right price.
Who I am
I spent two years working front-of-house at a Ginza sushiya before switching to writing about Tokyo food full-time. I’ve watched a thousand tourists panic over soy sauce and how to hold chopsticks, and this site is my attempt to save you the trouble. I rate a $12 conveyor-belt plate and a $300 omakase on their own terms, with no hype.
What we do
I research the sushi in Tokyo available in Tokyo, read through traveller reviews on GetYourGuide, and write up honest, practical guidance on which tour suits which traveller. I am not a tour operator and I don’t sell tickets — when you’re ready to book, I send you to GetYourGuide, a licensed reseller, to complete your booking.
How we’re funded
I earn a small affiliate commission when you book through my links, at no extra cost to you. That’s what keeps the site free. It never changes which tours I recommend — see my affiliate disclosure for the full picture.
